Retractable Arch

When our customer bought a beautiful new 47' Grandbanks EU Classic yacht he had one problem: he couldn't get in and out of his boathouse because the arch was too tall. He asked us if we could make a retractable arch. Of course we could.

To take this permanent structure and make it a retractable arch, we had to modify the existing structure. We designed, engineered, and fabricated custom retractable legs for the arch out of stainless steel and used Izerwaren gas cartridges to make the manual raising and lowering of the arch smoother and more controlled.
